The Dudes of 708 wants to bring the power of computers to more and more people around the world, with great software and great hardware. We want our software to be accessible by all and available 24x7. We're connecting people to resources all around the world, and so together, we are building the next useful tool.

Want to help build new products that will touch tons of lives, sometimes hidden and in the background? We iterate extremely quickly, and work in a fast-paced environment. The Dudes of 708 is seeking interns to join our engineering team. You'll help drive the development of systems, from our core applications to side projects that can easily balloon into full-scale systems. Our internships have a minimum of 4 week durations and no cap on the maximum.

Responsibilities

• Create performant code in C++, Python, Java and Javascript
• Analyze results and find weaknesses in production

Qualifications

• Some experience coding in C++, Python, Java, and/or Javascript
• Have touched libraries like Flask, React, React Native, and/or Spring before
• Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program or self-studying a computer science-related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Have previous work or volunteer experience in problem-solving and programming
• Good understanding of algorithmic design, data structures, and operating systems

What You'll Learn

• How to build production-ready software and services
• Exposure to performant databases and large-scale data processing
• Experience working with the cloud, including Google Cloud and Linode
